Due parole su di me / A few words about me

IT - Due parole su di me...

Buona visita a tutti!

Mi famiglia / My family

EN- A few words about me... Well, my name is Cécile and I am French, from the outskirts of Paris. Before arriving in Italy, I lived for 4 years in Spain finishing the research for my Ph.D. (in Medieval History) in Barcelona. After attaining my degree (from the University of Paris?), I moved to Italy, to the island of Sardinia, where I had previously met my fiancé while studying in Cagliari on a grant.
I first discovered cake decorating 3 years ago. Like many who become passionate about cake decorating, it started when I was looking for ideas for my daughters' birthday cakes (I have two adorable 4 and 7-year-old girls). I discovered the books of Debbie Brown on the internet, which filled my imagination with dreams and also despair!! Her cakes are so amazing and beautiful, and they then seemed to me impossible to have been created by a mere mortal!! However this is how I got started. After this discovery, I had to brush up on my English, since almost all cake decorating literature is in English! After a while, I discovered that I had a talent for sugar paste modeling, even though today I must contstantly be learning and improving so many things. Most of what I have learned is the result of reading books, reading on-line tutorials, and looking at the cakes of others.
With regards to this blog, I have been working on it for a few months, but only now have I finally made the time to write! It also took me a long time to decide in which language I should write. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to do it in two languages; In the end, I abdicated my own language (French) and one of my languages of the heart (Spanish). I decided I would write in the language of my adopted country (Italian) and in English, because the majority of the people that I know who make cakes, whom I met above all through Flickr, are English-speakers. For all those who will read my blog, I apologize for any linguistic errors that you might encounter, however I have a dear friend will sometimes give me a hand with the English.
Now I’m launched, and I hope that you will like what I will have to tell you about my cakes decorated with sugarpaste.
I have already made many cakes which you can see in my Flickr album. I will publish each one over time in my blog.

Enjoy the site!
